Frequently Asked Questions
|
Q1 How often should I
have my carpets cleaned?
At least every 12 months - it has actually been proven
that carpets that are periodically cleaned and protected
have a longer life span and durability than carpets that are
cleaned less frequently.
Q2 How soon can I walk on the carpet after it is cleaned?
Carpets cleaned using the Chem-Dry system can be walked
on within 1 hour of completed cleaning. Some areas that we
clean at the beginning of the cleaning process can even be
walked on straight away! when we complete our work.
Q3 Will all the stains come out?
Depending on how much time the stain has had to set in
the carpet. If a stain is relatively new it can be much
easier to lift than a stain that has had plenty of time to
sit and set in the carpet. Chem-Dry Carpet Solutions has a
wide range of stain removal solutions and specialized stain
removal systems that can help lift some of the most
difficult staining.
Q4 Will the cleaning damage or destroy the stain
protection on my carpet?
NO, Chem-Dry Carpet Solutions do not use any harsh alkaline
pre-sprays that can strip away the protective coating on
stain resistant and stain treated carpets. BEWARE! a lot of
carpet cleaners promising miraculous results during cleaning
often use harsh Alkaline pre sprays that can do more than
just strip away the protection on your carpet.
Q5 Is it safe for kids, babies and pets?
Yes. Chem-Dry is without a doubt the most
effectively healthy, safe and non-toxic carpet cleaning
system available today.
Q6 How often should I have my carpets protected?
At least every 3 years to maximize the long term durability
of your carpet. With consistent periodical cleaning and
protection your carpets life span and overall appearance
will be at least double that of any carpet that is less
frequently maintained.
Q7 What is the difference between "Hot Carbonation" and
"General Steam Cleaning"?
A lot of carpet steam cleaners use a high pressure machine
which "blasts" water into your carpet which can cause over
wetting of carpet and longer drying times. The problem with
this type of cleaning is that when your carpet is wet for a
long period of time you can cause shrinking plus
delamination and promote the breeding of bacterial mould
within the backing of your carpet and underlay. This can be
of serious health concern for the occupants of the home or
premises. Chem-Dry Carpet Solutions carbonation process
promotes the "lifting" of soiling using our famous" The
Natural" carbonation solution which does not need excessive
amounts of water to extract soiling from carpet pile because
the carbonation lifts and suspends the soiling to the
surface for extraction and in turn does not damage or create
a health issue with your carpet.
Q8 What is the difference between" Dry Cleaning" and "Hot
Carbonation"?
The main difference is the actual drying time. "Dry
cleaning" is an attractive and effective option for
customers who want an extremely fast drying time (within 45
minutes) and is also quite good for commercial and
professional premises that have high floor traffic and need
the carpets dry in a hurry. "Hot Carbonation" has a longer
drying time of between 1-2 hours, although this drying time
can reduced with the installation of air dryers if the
customer requests. (Additional charge applies).
Q9 Is "Dry Cleaning" as effective as" Hot Carbonation".
Yes, The solutions we use on both processes are
basically the same with the only difference being the
cleaning machinery we use and the overall drying time, as
previously mentioned.
Q10 Why do some carpet cleaners have much cheaper prices
than Chem Dry Carpet Solutions?
Simple, A lot of carpet cleaners rely on the old "Bait and
Switch" and "Splash and Dash" system. These operators are
interested in $$$ turnover alone, and getting in and out of
your premises as quickly as possible leaving your carpets
soaking wet for days and don't care if they ever see you
again or not. The "Bait and Switch" method purely relies on
them getting a foot in the door at a very cheap price and
then 9 times out of 10 forcing you to pay a much higher
price than originally advertised otherwise they refuse to do
the work or simply drive off if the customer refuses to pay
the extra. Please note :If it's cheap its probably nasty.
Q11 Does the same drying times apply to upholstery and
lounge cleaning?
Yes, Our advanced upholstery cleaning equipment lifts
twice the amount of soiling using a third of the amount of
water most other systems use, promoting very fast fabric
drying times. Our famous "The Natural" carbonation solution
lifts and suspends all the soiling from your fabric for
extraction without overwetting and damaging the fabric.
Q12 Will it take off any of the protection and stain
resistance on my lounge?
No, All the upholstery solutions Chem-Dry use are
non-alkaline based, which compliment the cleaning process on
protected lounges during cleaning and actually work in
conjunction with the protection already on the fabric to
clean even more effectively rather than using harsh
pre-sprays that not just clean the fabric but strip away the
protection at the same time.
Q13 How often should I protect my upholstery?
At least every 2 to 3 years, depending on the wear
factor of your fabric. Factors include children, pets if the
upholstery is in a commercial practice or premises and is
susceptible to heavy wear or staining or even its exposure
to dust or microbials.
THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION YOU SHOULD ASK IS HOW CLEAN
AND HEALTHY IS YOUR CARPET OR UPHOLSTERY?

Chem-Dry Tip
Regular vacuuming will keep your carpet looking its best. Raking your
carpet prior to vacuuming will loosen the dirt, pet hair, and raise the
pile. Thus making vacuuming far more effective.
